On a lone journey to Makalu Base Camp (5250 m), now
classified as Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Area, you will see
high-altitude terrains, snow-covered sceneries, and ethnic Himalayan lifestyle.
Mt. Makalu (8463 m) is the world's fifth tallest summit. The Makalu Base Camp
trip is a great adventure with breathtaking scenery that never gets old.
The Makalu Base Camp Trek begins at Tumlingtar and travels up the Arun river valley to Sedua and Num before crossing the Shipton La Pass (4210 m) into the upper Barun river valley for a close look at Makalu and Chamlang Himal. This trek takes you to one of Nepal's most isolated and unexplored regions.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu pick up from the airport.
Day 2: Kathmandu sightseeing & trek preparation.
Day 3: Fly to Tumlingtar & drive to Chichili, 45 mins flight
and 3-4 hrs drive.
Day 4: Chichili- Num 6-7 hrs trek, Max Altitude: 1,560
m.
Day 5: Num- Sedua 6-7 hrs trek, Max Altitude: 1,500
m.
Day 6: Sedua- Tashi Gaon 5-6 hrs trek, Max Altitude: 2,100
m.
Day 7: Tashi Gaon- Kauma 6-7 hrs trek, Max Altitude: 3,500
m.
Day 8: Rest/spare day
Day 9: Kauma – Mumbuk 6-7 hrs trek, Max Altitude: 3,570

Day 10: Mumbuk - Nhe Kharka 6-7 hrs trek, Max Altitude: 3,000 m
Day 11: Nhe Kharka - Sherson 4-5 hrs trek, Max Altitude: 4,615 m

available during the trek.
- A sleeping bag, down
jacket, duffel bag, and trekking sticks will be provided (if you do not
have your own, to be returned after the trip).

personal potter (if necessary).

supplies such as an oximeter and a pulse meter checker and oxygen (if
needed).

- International airline fare.
- Visa is not included: Visas can be easily obtained upon arrival at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport.
